International Symposium – New Reproductive Technologies – Adoption is a conference proceedings volume bringing together presentations and discussions from the 3rd international conference on the child held in Montréal in May 1997.

The publication explores the ethical, legal, social, and human implications surrounding assisted reproductive technologies and adoption during a period of significant social and scientific change. Bringing together internationally recognized scholars, researchers, and professionals, the conference addressed evolving concepts of family, parenthood, children’s rights, prenatal life, inter-country adoption, and the impact of emerging reproductive practices on future generations.

Developed under the direction of the Organization for the Protection of Children’s Rights, the volume reflects a commitment to fostering open dialogue and critical reflection on issues affecting children and families worldwide. Through interdisciplinary perspectives and thought-provoking papers, the proceedings encourage a child-centered approach to complex questions surrounding the creation of life, adoption, and the protection of children’s rights.

Intended for professionals, educators, researchers, and policymakers, this publication serves as both a historical record of an important international dialogue and a continuing resource for those engaged in child welfare, family studies, ethics, law, and social policy.
